A perfect day in Geneva - 78 recommendations to combine

I’ve known Alexia for almost a decade now, and was fortunate to collaborate on a project with her when she was freelancing. Alexia is a multitalented designer and artist who cares deeply about others. She’s generous with her time, thoughtful, and brings genuine warmth to her interactions with people. I'm grateful to be part of her circle of friends.

Needless to say I was excited to learn she'd published a book! Read her LinkedIn and Instagram posts.

Crunchy content in a tasteful layout

I love the format and layout of the book. It's a tiny bit larger than what would be considered a "pocket book" but easy to carry around with you. The inside covers feature a map of all the spots she recommends in and around Geneva, while each recommendation is presented across a two-page spread.

“Une journée parfaite à Genève” book cover. The title in yellow of a red background (Geneva's colours) with a skyline silhouette in the lower half.

It's beautifully illustrated on one side with a large photo, colour-coded by genre, and carefully organised in “Why go there?”, “For whom?” and ”When to go?” sections. The content is easy to scan and practical to use, and an elegant iconography summarises the essential meta information of each location.

What makes the book stand out is its idea of combining an outing, an activity and a meal according to the time and budget you have available. Its design has the joyful vibes of a game. I could almost see it as a pack of cards.

The book is a real treat

In true Alexia fashion, a lot of attention has been given to every detail. This isn’t just another city guide. It’s a publication full of personality (and opinions) that conveys her positive energy from beginning to end. If you are fortunate enough to know her, you can feel the twinkle in her eyes and her smile while reading the descriptions and exploring the spots she recommends.

Grab yourself a copy, and buy one for a friend. Even if you’ve lived in Geneva for years, chances are you’ll discover places you never knew—or finally have the excuse to visit those you’ve been meaning to explore.

Congrats Alexia!
