Where is my jetpack?

I had the pleasure to meet Scott Hanselman during the last Smashing Meets on AI. Scott delivered an insightful hands on talk after Vitaly’s Design Patterns for AI.
He gave us a demo from the inside. instead of treating AI like a black box in which we drop things into, he took the approach of explaining how these LLMs work (high level), and wrote a little chatbot UI to demo and support his explanations (Scott’s a teacher…) He called it spicy autocomplete.
If you are remotely interested in AI, go and watch it, it’s funny, insightful and well worth your time.
Tech Promised Everything. Did it deliver?
Scott gave a TEDx talk this summer which resonated deeply with me. Goosebumps. It’s full of humanity and values I related closely to. Scott articulates his talk in a brilliant manner, travelling through time revisiting what technology did deliver, and what were false promises.
Scott Hanselman offers a candid look at what’s really happening beneath the surface of AI and innovation and how we must make conscious, informed decisions about the tools shaping our future.
I have been sharing this talk right and left since I discovered it. Take 20 minutes to watch it. Enjoy it and share it.
