Steve Jobs’ commencement address at Stanford is twenty years old (June 12th, 2005).

The Steve Jobs Archive has published a page on the event, alongside with unreleased artifacts such as drafts and emails Steve sent to himself while preparing the speech.

To this day, it remains one of the most remarkable speeches I’ve heard, and parts of it still give me goose pimples.

The video has been newly enhanced from SD to HD for the event.

On June 12, 2005, Steve stood before Stanford’s graduating class and delivered what would become one of the most influential commencement speeches in history. No one, certainly not Steve, imagined that his words would still resonate two decades later. By speaking to some fundamental human truths—love, death, fear, authenticity, hope—he delivered a speech as timeless as it is profound.
